ActivitiesRound-table meeting with the President of the university, trustees and tenure track academic staff held 2012.06.01

Round-table meeting with the President of the university, trustees and tenure track academic staff held On May 28 (Mon), a round-table meeting was held in the President’s reception room with the University President, trustees and tenure track staff. With support from the Tenure Track Expansion and Entrenchment Program of the FY2014 MEXT Program for the Development of Human Resources in Science and Technology, Yamaguchi University hired three tenure track staff: Assistant Professor Yukimi Sakoda (Graduate School of Medicine), Associate Professor Masaru Fukushi (Graduate School of Science and Engineering) and Associate Professor Shin Kamijo (Graduate School of Science and Engineering). The round-table meeting consisted of an opening speech from President Marumoto, followed by self-introductions from the trustees and the tenure track staff, and then discussions of various topics such as research themes and the situation regarding activity, all in an amicable atmosphere with occasional laughter. From the meeting, it was possible to see that that the three members of tenure track staff had gotten off to a good start. It was also a valuable opportunity for communicating the opinions of young researchers to the President and trustees. Yamaguchi University will continue to develop its research environment and enhance its support system for research. Please see this website for details on the tenure track system, etc.
